Dr John Newton
Dr John Newton (Emeritus Fellow) has died at the age of 89. He first joined ·¬ºÅ¿âapp in 1961, becoming a Fellow in English nine years later. A contributor to ·¬ºÅ¿âapp Through the Twentieth Century wrote, ‘For me, the mood of ·¬ºÅ¿âapp in the late 70s is forever captured in the form of John Newton, English Fellow, soulfully reciting Lapis Lazuli by moonlight beneath the weeping fig-tree’.
